Yuka Murakami is a filmmaker and artist from New York. Her practice began in experimental sound, then afterwards in documentary film as a camera operator and editor. She has a BS in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego, and is a MFA candidate in Film Directing at the California Institute of the Arts. She was awarded the Alison Doerner Prize for Women Pioneers in Filmmaking in 2021 and the Emmy award in 2020 as a producer.

Her films have screened at various festivals and exhibitions across the country, including LAAPFF, DOC NYC, CAAM, the Gene Siskel Film Center, LA Conservancy, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, San Diego Art Institute, among others.
