Yuka Murakami is a filmmaker and artist based in NYC. Her practice began in experimental sound, then in documentary film as a camera operator and editor. She is currently based in New York and works in the Programming department at Metrograph. She holds a MFA in Film Directing from the California Institute of the Arts, and a BS in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego. She was awarded the Alison Doerner Fund for Women Pioneers in Filmmaking in 2021 and the Emmy award in 2020 as a producer.
