Yuka Murakami is a film worker and artist with a variety of skills and experiences related to the moving image, including but not limited to: directing, writing, performing, photography, sound design, and producing. Her practice began in experimental sound, then in documentary film as a camera operator and editor. She is currently based in New York and works in the Programming department at Metrograph. She holds a MFA in Film Directing from the California Institute of the Arts, and a BS in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego. She was awarded the Alison Doerner Prize in 2021 and the Emmy award in 2020 as a producer.
